Vlogger Go viral - review + summary
One of the most popular tap games from the developers Tapp games
Since this game has a similarity to the real YouTube, just know that when I am taking about posting videos, seeing live streams, responding to comments and other YouTube related feature, please know I mean inside the game and this has nothing to do with the real website.
Firstly, let me walk you a little through this way of playing. The more you tap, the more rewards you get. The more rewards you get, money is better earned (and also more money to spend is required). There is an ending to all that tapping of course and in the old version of Vlogger that I was playing (not even sure that was the initial name - played it more than a year ago) when you got to have more rewards and your channel had tons of views you would get to create another channel. You were of course, beginning from 0, but you had more rewards and it was different - or at least it seemed so. And you also got to change the theme of your videos.
As for those who do not know what this game is about: you are becoming the next YouTube video blogger and you can customize the way you look, the room you are filming in, add posters, change camera, change the computer, choose a topic and post videos, then change the topic, answer to good comments (green - sometimes users say they want to marry you and that you're very cool) with a like and block those bad comments (with red - mostly stuff about how unpopular you are). You receive bonuses for every comment you answer to correctly (there's a meter bar), for every video posted and more upgrades you buy, the more viewers and subscribers you all have. This all means more money to spend, and other objects to unlock, like professional lighting for example.
There are lots of changes since I last played it. There was no live streaming - this is becoming more and more like real youtubers. Sometimes when I am playing I get a notice about a live streaming that is happening now and if I would like to participate. I usually say yes, mostly out of curiosity and the game takes me to a random user that's currently filming a video and there are many reactions flowing around and you have to pick one. If you pick the reaction that most used by other users you get a lot of money. If not, you will get less cash. For example, for a reaction that was not popular with the users I got around 40k for it. And for a reaction that was the most popular I got 700k. I believe this might depend on what level you are - how many upgrades you have and stuff like that. When I got the 40k I had like 4-5 videos posted I think, and when I got the 700k I had around 10 videos.
When I first installed this game there weren't so many bonuses and so many things. Now you get to have 2 rooms - or 2 spaces, like inside of the house - your actual room where all the recording is happening and outside of the house - where you even have a pool. If you are on a video you can go outside and what I believe a phone appears as if you are recording, but I have no idea how the video keeps filming... Practically when you start a video it says researching, so I am guessing the actual video would take less, but the preparations would take more time, like in reality.
More bonuses doesn't really mean better gameplay. Like most games these days, it has lots of advertisement. Some of the adds you can view for yourself and gain an upgrade that costs money, boxes full of prizes, an additional item to the box full of prizes and more. And when you want to progress quickly it's a good thing. In the past it wasn't worth it to watch an add for 1 diamond (you mostly needed 200 to buy something cool). But now everything has become more accessible even if you don't want to spend real money on a game like this. By paying a small sum (I don't remember exactly how many dollars) you get rid of all the adds - which are quite intrusive if you just want to check your progress and don't really have time to tap back 10 times before it works. I am not sure what happens to the adds that you have to watch for bonuses. Maybe you keep watching ads when you need to, so the paying method is only for the intrusive ads where you can easily click by mistake.
I am sure everybody makes lots of money, you click on ads, people get money, you install the game/application that is advertised - even better. I sometimes get ads about offers from McDonald's or new features for PS4 console. Those were the good times, where I could watch a nice add. They change over time, so if you get bored, don't worry - there are plenty of more ads to come!
I am going to be mean for a while and criticize every game that has intrusive ads - most of them have it. At some point I am going to accept it and only mention it briefly, I promise.
1. Would I continue to play it?
Yes, for some time. It seems rewarding. I don't upload videos to YouTube, but I like to imagine myself as a successful vlogger.
2. Is this game time consuming?
Yes, if you have a free day it's addicting and it tries to make you click (actually tap) more and wait to have the money for the next upgrade, etc.
3. Will I get bored of it?
Yes, after I win the Noob competition I will most likely start to check it more rarely. But this is my only goal here, because I am curious about the new features since I have only recently re-installed it and did not know about the updates.
4. Would I recommend it?
Yes, it's a good addictive game. But you also need a phone that can handle performance. The more you progress, the slower it will work sometimes.
I will give this game a 3.5 rating out of 5 stars. It's fun, but it becomes repetitive and boring. You buy pets, decorations, you post videos, you click and click and click... and repeat.
